Peggy Stewart

Gibsonville - Peggy Sue May Stewart, 74, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Guilford County on July 3, 1943 to the late Robert Boyd May and Elsie Mae Steele May and was the wife to David "Gene" Eugene Stewart, Sr. of 58 years who survives.

Peggy formerly worked at Allen Bradley Company and was a homemaker. She attended Lebanon Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.

Survivors other than her husband David "Gene" Stewart, Sr. include her sons, David Eugene Stewart, Jr. and wife, Beverly and Victor Ken Stewart; a daughter, Melinda Stewart Lechner and husband, Ron; her grandsons that she adored, Ben Stewart, Nick (Lauren) Stewart, Adam (Sarah) Hall, Bryan Caudle and Kyle (Kaitlyn) Lechner; great grandchildren , Eli Caudle, Micah Hall, Gabby Hall, Candace Hall and Lawson Stewart; a sister, Doris Hutchinson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Betty Still and Frances Dunevant, and a brother, R.D. May.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Matt Smith with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the hospice nurses, family members and dear friends for all of their support, prayers and thoughtfulness during Peggy's illness.
