Peggy Brooks

Burlington Peggy Pack Brooks, 86, passed away Monday, January 06, 2014 surrounded by her family at Liberty Commons. She was born in Alamance County to the late Walter DeWitt Pack and the late Nannie Mae Stadler Pack and was married to the late James Houston Brooks. She retired from Lucent Technologies and was the owner and operator of Biller's Jewelers in Burlington. Peggy was an active member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir, former member of the Women's Society and former MYF Leader. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Stan and Patty Brooks of Burlington, Norman and Nancy Brooks of Lexington, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Ronnie Stuber of Wilmington; grandchildren, Thomas Brooks, Brandon Clayton, Larissa Brooks, Ashley Watkins, Tanya Waters, Robbie Ricard and Heather Bowland; eight great grandchildren; sister, Betty P. Sharpe of Burlington; brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Patricia Pack of Burlington. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, James, parents, infant daughter; sisters, Ruth P. Cox and Verona P. Evans; brothers, Walter DeWitt Pack, Jr. and Raymond Kenneth Pack. The funeral service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church by Rev. Warren Cash and Rev. Neal Salter. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
