It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Peggy Ann Dempsey DiCinque, 87, on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Yanceyville Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Caswell. Born on March 3, 1937, in Alamance County, Peggy was the cherished daughter of the late Odell Herbert “Red” Dempsey and Lenora Humphrey Dempsey. She was the wife to the late John DiCinque, who preceded her in death in 2015.
Peggy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. As a devoted homemaker, she poured her heart into nurturing her beautiful flowers and creating a warm, welcoming yard. Her love for cats was well-known among her family and friends, and her greatest treasure was the time spent with those she adored. Peggy was also committed to helping others, volunteering her time and kindness at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Peggy is lovingly remembered by her children, John Michael “Mike” DiCinque and Gina M. DiCinque; her grandchildren, Michael Cole DiCinque and Maggie May Murray; as well as two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, her sister Helen Louise Dempsey, and four half-brothers.
In honor of her life, a private graveside service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park. The family invites you to express your condolences and share cherished memories at www.lowefuneralhome.com. Peggy’s spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
