Mrs. Pearl Payne Jordan, age 58, of 1403 Apple St. went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday August 4, 2006 at her residence. A native of Alamance County, she was wife of Richard Adam Jordan, Jr. who survives and daughter of the late William Anderson Bill and Hazel Shives Payne. She was a teachers assistant at Andrews Elementary School, a member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. She sang in a duet, known as Harmony with her sister in the Lord, Sandra Wells. Mrs. Jordan is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard Adam Jordan, Jr. of the home; 2 sons, Jack W. Jordan of Burlington and Dennis Jordan and wife Tasha of Burlington; daughter, Ashley D. Jordan of the home; 3 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Glenda Melton of Mt. Vernon, GA and Becky Hobson and husband Richard of Graham and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Staley Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Bennie Smith and Rev. Rodney Staley. Interment will follow in Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Jordan will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 4-6 PM Sunday and at other times at the residence. Memorial may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Raleigh Chapter; 2301 Stonehenge Dr. Raleigh, NC 27615. Condolences may be sent to the family at info@lowefuneralhome.com.
