Mrs. Pauline Louise Sutton Tatum, age 88, of Burlington, completed her journey to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late John William and Lydia Long Sutton and was married for 57 years to the late William Floyd Tatum, who passed in 2008. She was a career homemaker and was employed in the textile industry. Pauline was a longtime member of Open Bible Baptist Church and she treasured her time that she spent there. She was well loved by all her family and friends.
Mrs. Tatum is survived by her four children, Connie T. Horner and husband, Dan Allison, Caren Y. Tatum, W. Craig Tatum and Wendy M. Hedrick and husband, Craig; four grandchildren, Julie, Corey, Caitlin and Alex; a sister, Alma Kernodle; and dear friend, Luther Murray. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Ruby Freshwater; and brothers, Edgar, Boyd, and Melvin Sutton.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 19, 2022 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Steve Pruitt. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 AM Friday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Bible Baptist Church, 610 S. Beaumont Ave., Burlington, NC 27217.
