Pauline Shaw

Pauline "Polly" Rumley Shaw, age 95, formerly of Garfield Rd., Burlington, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, April 3, 2015. Mrs. Shaw was born in Guilford County to the late Robert Russell Rumley and the late Effie Jane Gerringer Rumley and was married for over 65 years to the late Elmer Leslie Shaw, who passed away in 2003. She was a longtime member of Brookwood Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School class. Polly retired from Carolina Biological Supply after 45 years of service. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Shaw Roger Burket of Mechanicsville, VA; son, Barry Jan Allen of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; 8 grandchildren, Barry Allen Shaw, Jr., Pride Shaw Mersbach, Aaron Matthews, Jay Matthews, Sharina Lfflad, Marissa Lfflad, Dustin Burket and Ginger Burket; 6 great grandchildren; and a brother, Wallace Alton Rumley of Gibsonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Charlotte Agnes Rumley; and two brothers, Carlton Russell Rumley and Robert Corbett Rumley. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Garry Baldwin. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Church, 1606 W.
