Pauline Hawks Moore

Pauline was Born on November 22, 1924, in Guilford County, North Carolina. She graduated Gibsonville High School in 1942 and continued her education with a degree in Accounting, which was a tremendous undertaking for a woman in the 1940s. She took a job with the phone company and soon became a supervisor over 14 women.

In 1951, she married Milton C Moore, and then became a dedicated wife and mother to three wonderful girls… Teresa (Charlie), Katrinka (Bill), and Milly (Doug). She enjoyed her 3 Grandchildren: Mekeisha, Heather, and Jennifer; and her 7 Great Grandchildren: Abigail, Liam, Devin, Taylor, Caitlin, Zac, and Cristana. She had even more love to spread to the great-great grandchildren Hazel, Clay and Bowen.

Pauline had seven siblings she was preceded in death by Violet, Arthur, Colon, Wanda, Bruce, Bill and Kay and their parents, William Floyd and Blanche Emma Hawks, and her daughter Katrinka.

She had a sweet demeanor, and her friends and acquaintances loved her, and often came to her for spiritual advice. She was not only an exceptional mother, who sang songs to lift her girls spirits, but she provided them with the guidance to achieve whatever they wanted in life. Pauline had a gift she shared, the power of simply being kind and making people feel special, which made them believe in themselves.

She is irreplaceable in our hearts and we are grateful for our precious memories of her.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2PM at Gibsonville City Cemetery.
