Altamahaw - Pauline Brown Cook, 91, of Elon, went home to be with the Lord on Monday,
April 18, 2016 at the Hospice Home. She was a native of Guilford County and was the loving wife of 54 years to the late Shelton Sanderson Cook and daughter of the late Frank and Ollie Jones Brown.
Pauline was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed by all. She was a devoted member and former Sunday School teacher of Altamahaw Baptist Church. Pauline worked for over 18 years as a hostess at Hardee's "Skats" restaurant in Glen Raven.
Surviving are her four children, Virginia (Harold) Bowling, Jean (Ronnie) Sutton, Alvin (Anita) Cook, Diane (Danny) Blanchard and a special niece, Brenda Wright; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Bobby Brown and friend, Joyce Patterson, Ada Lee Pickrell, and Harvey (Doris) Brown. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde, Worth, Jack and John Brown.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Altamahaw Baptist Church by Dr. Steve Tucker and the burial will follow at the Apple's Chapel Christian Church Cemetery in Gibsonville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
