Paula Andris

Paula Alspaugh Osborne Andris, 87, of Twin Lakes Community passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Charleston, WV to the late Bernard E. and Gertrude Wuesthoff Alspaugh and was married to the late Joseph J. Andris II who died in August of 2000 and Kenneth W. Osborne who died in March of 1976. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Elon serving on various committees and teams but was particularly active with the Senior Adults Ministry. She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she later served for 28 years as Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, now known as the Provost Office. She is survived by her children, Patricia Osborne Steve Lee of Fuquay-Varina, Charles E. "Chuck" Treva Osborne of Greensboro, Gale Osborne Steve Tate of Oak Island, Joseph J. Andris III of Tiburon, CA; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Jean A. Crutchfield, Betty A. Sprinkle, both of Winston-Salem and a brother, Jim B. Alspaugh of Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her husbands and a sister, Jacqi A. Carson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Elon by Rev. Keith Sexton. The family will receive friends one prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Elon, P.O. Box 923, Elon, NC 27244.
