Paul Tucker

Greensboro Paul Wentz Tucker, 82, was called to be with his Lord on August 11, 2010. He passed peacefully at his Greensboro home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Big Stone Gap on July 4, 1928 to Thomas Ayers Tucker and Rose Turner Tucker, he was one of 9 children. He retired from Pet Inc. as a regional sales manager and later went on to work for Atlas Marketing. Paul was a faithful member of Grove Park Baptist Church where he served his Lord faithfully in many ways. He had a great love for people and never met a stranger. One of his greatest blessings was the Thursday morning Bible study and the members of that class. He is survived by his wife Shirley C. Tucker; three daughters, Carolyn Taum Ramsay, Cheryl Baldwin Garry, Julie Turney Gerald; grandchildren, Remington Taum, Jeremiah Baldwin Meghan, Anna Grace Baldwin, Caleb Baldwin, Brook Hambright Matthew, Jonathan Ledford, Catherine Delany Matthew, Chris Turney, David Turney, Scott Williams Holly and Dana Mix; great grandchildren, Jacob, Rose, Juliette and Titus Hambright, Sam, Jonathan and Thomas Williams; sisters, Jo Ann Cox J.W. and Peggy Strong; brother, Marvin Tucker Ursala and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by Thomas Tucker, James Tucker, Billy Tucker, Eloise Arnett and Phil Tucker. A funeral service will be held at 11:30am Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Grove Park Baptist Church by Dr. Gene Hunsinger with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11:15AM.
