Paul Lenville Thomas, 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital surrounded by his loving family. A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late Cleve and Hazel Thomas and was married to Marie Hill Thomas, who survives.
Paul worked for Burlington Industries in the print shop as well as GE as a metal fabricator before his retirement. He was proud to have served in the National Guard for over 8 years. He was a faithful member of McLeansville Baptist Church for many years.
He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed hunting, camping in the mountains, watching old Westerns and just being with family. He was known as a man of few words, but the words he did speak were always worth hearing.
Paul is survived by his wife of 67 years; Marie Hill Thomas, daughter; Teresa Thomas, son; Ronald Thomas grandchildren; Amber Smith (Michael), Steven Thomas, Jacob Thomas and a sister-in-law; Marceline Thomas. He was preceded in death by his daughters; Paula Marie Thomas, parents; Cleve and Hazel Thomas and a brother; Leon Thomas.
A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at McLeansville Baptist Church by Pastor Mike Barnette with the burial to follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home.
