Burlington Paul A. Terwesten, 94, of 701 N. Dale Ct., Burlington, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. Mr. Terwesten was preceded in death by a wife, Jane Barrett Terwesten and a son, Paul M. Terwesten. Mr. Terwesten was born in St. Louis, MO on July 11, 1914. He lived almost all of his life in Missouri and was very active in his community. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Warson Woods for many years where he taught Sunday school and was a Lay Reader. In his later life, he was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington, MO. Paul also belonged to the Webster Grove Rotary Club and was a past president. Mr. Terwesten was an employee at Ameren U.E. from 1933 to 1976. In his leisure time, he loved to play tennis and was an accomplished Ballroom Dancer. He is survived by his wife of the home, Dorothy Spickelmier Terwesten; daughter, Stephanie Hoos and husband John; stepdaughter, Julie Anne Mullis; stepsons, Nathan and Charlie Williams; sister, Shirley Fabry; two grandchildren, Beau Ottofy and Jayney Brookman; five step grandchildren, Emily and Jeremy Mullis, Jonathan, Neil and Joshua Williams and many other relatives and friends. A private service will be held at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory in Burlington. A memorial service will also be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1008 Bieker Rd., Washington, MO.
