Paul Lewis

Paul Thomas Lewis, age 76, of Burke Club House Rd., passed away Saturday December 4, 2010 at his home. A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Patricia Gerringer "Pat" Lewis and son of the late Dr. Walter Glenn Lewis and grandson of the late Charlie Lee and Hattie Catherine Pettigrew Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church, the Gibsonville Merchants Association, a former member of the Burlington Moose Lodge and the Gibsonville Jaycees. Paul graduated from Hargrave Military Academy and attended N.C. State University. He retired from Copeland Fabrics and later delivered flowers for Pat at her florist. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Pat G. Lewis of the home; sons, Paul Randall Lewis of Georgia and Walter Eric "Ricky" Lewis and wife Elizabeth Younger Lewis of Gibsonville; granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth and Erica Ruth Lewis; step son, Brad Eugene Benfield and wife Tracy Shepherd Benfield; step granddaughter, London Marie Benfield; sisters, Lida Coleman and Linda Stevens. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday December 7, 2010 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jonathan D. Marlowe and Rev. David Gilbert. Interment will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery. Mr. Lewis will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7pm Monday and other times at the residence.
