Paul William Doby, 74, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020 in his home surrounded by his family. A native of Stokes County he was the son of the late Troy Lee Doby, Sr. and Bessie Lynch Doby and was married for over 53 years to Joy May Doby.
Paul was a member of the US Army National Guard before he owned and operated Doby Texaco for over 21 years. He then worked for PBS and J Disaster Cleanup for 8 years, which allowed him to travel all over the country before retiring. He was an avid golfer as well as enjoyed wood working. He will be remembered as being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors other than his wife, Joy May Doby include his twin daughters; Shannon Wagoner and husband Keith and Sherry Campbell and husband, Claude, grandchildren; Alex Menius and wife, Maegen, Kasey Wagoner and Kari Wagoner, great grandchildren; Eleanor and Elijah Menius, siblings; Viola Whitsell (Gaynor), Louise Capps (Archie), James Doby (Becky) and Coy Doby. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter; Ashley Denise Doby and brother; Troy Lee Doby, Jr.
A private service for the family will be held by Rev. JD Weed. Live streaming of the service will be available at 2:00pm Monday, April 20, 2020 at www.lowefuneralhome.com .The burial will be held at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence.
