Patricia Lou Dennis "Pat" Riddell, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Alamance Health Care Center due to complications from congestive heart failure. Pat went to sleep in this world Wednesday evening and woke up in the presence of the Lord she loved and served. She was born in Davison County, South Dakota to the late Charles Ora Dennis and the late Edna Harding Dennis and was married to the late Robert Edward "Bob" Riddell, Sr. Pat was an elementary teacher for 40 years and retired from Alma Heights Christian School in Pacifica, CA. After her retirement she made her new home in Snow Camp, NC. She was a member of the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where she was involved with the Young At Heart Seniors and the Ladies Bible Study groups where she continued her love of studying and teaching God's Word. Pat loved her church and the warm fellowship and sound preaching she found there. "Her children rise up and call her blessed." Proverbs 31:28. Her family is very grateful for the Christian life and influence she passed on to them. The blessings of having a beloved Christian mother are multi-generational and eternal. She loved her family and was well loved in return. Her constant giving spirit and encouragement will be missed. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Bob and Karen Riddell, Jr. of Charlotte, Dennis and Polly Riddell of Snow Camp; grandchildren and spouses: Laura and Jacob Riis, Christi and Patrick Kearney, Heather Witmer, Robb and Kristen Riddell III, Ryan Riddell, Kelsie Riddell, Lindsay Riddell, Allie Riddell, Adam Riddell, Nathan Riddell, Brandon Riddell, Reagan Riddell; great grandchildren: Alana Riis, Emmalyn Riis, Lily Riis, Kingston Kearney and Isla Rose Kearney; sister and brother-in-law: Mary and Steven Johnson of Everett, WA; brother and sisters-in-law: David and Marion Dennis of Santa Monica, CA and Betty Dennis wife of brother Leonard of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson, Dustin Leighton Riddell; sisters, Donna Dennis, Lolly Zuerner, Nell Locklin and Linda Dennis; brothers, Roy, Charles, Leonard Dennis; nephew, Andrew Dennis and aunt, Denny Sequin. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church by Rev. Bryan Gregory and Rev. Tim Robinson. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the son, Dennis Riddell's home. The burial will be at a later date.
