Patricia DeBoard

Patricia Young DeBoard, age 74, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Hospice Home of Alamance County after a lengthy illness. Pat was born March 16, 1938 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Carl and Golda Haynes Young. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Lacey DeBoard of the home; son, Craig Young DeBoard of Fuquay Varina; daughter, Maria Gayle DeBoard of Greensboro; sister Marjorie Young Matney of Grassy Creek; several nieces and nephews, many cousins and special friends. Pat worked as an Office Manager in the medical profession for many years in Burlington and Greensboro and most recently in the insurance industry. She was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church in Burlington. Patsy enjoyed the roots of her NC mountain homeplace, working to create beauty in her flower gardens, cooking big delicious meals for her family, spoiling the family pets and cheering for the Wolfpack at N.C. State football and basketball games. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, April 24, 2012 and other times at their residence. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Macedonia Lutheran Church by Rev. Stephen Rust. Interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 26, 2012 in the Ashelawn Memorial Garden in Jefferson, NC.
