Patricia Bell

Patricia Anne "Sam" Lowe Bell, age 60 of Lane Rd., passed away at 4:48am Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the home of her brother with her entire family by her side. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Wade F. and Doris Wilson Lowe. Following her graduation from Greensboro College she remained in Greensboro her entire adult life. She was in the physical fitness business for 28 years. For any of you who wondered why she was called Sam, her dad told her that from behind she looked like Sam Huff, who was a lineman for the Washington Redskins at that time. Pat, her sister and niece were avid Carolina Hurricane Hockey fans and usually attended games and tailgated together. Survivors include her sister and best friend Natalie Lowe of Youngsville; brother, Jim Lowe and wife Paula of Burlington, niece, Jimmi Anne Lowe of Burlington; and uncle and aunt, Warren and Rae Wilson of Durham. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, March 23, 2012 in the Lowe Funeral Home Home Chapel by Rev. John Shields. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Sam will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and at other times the home of Jim and Paula Lowe, 2255 W. Front St., Burlington, N.C.
