Patricia Barrett

Patricia Gilmore Barrett, 76, of Greensboro died on Monday, April 20, 2009 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Gilmore and Angie Mae Mansfield Gilmore and was married to the late Hugh Martin Barrett, Sr. Pat was born in Durham, raised in Burlington and lived most of her adult life in Greensboro. She was in the last graduating class at Burlington High School. Patricia was a former Miss Burlington and Miss Brightleaf. She was a Christian and attended Westover Church. Pat was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Amy Barrett of Jamestown; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Tom Dolinger of Greensboro, Vicki Fentress and Howard White of Pleasant Garden and Joan Barrett of Pleasant Garden; grandchildren, Christy and Jonathan McNeal, Tommy and Leah Dolinger, Rebecca Byerly, John Bishop and Melati Byerly, Ally Barrett, Jordan Wyrick and Patrick Barrett; great grandchildren, Denise and Hannah Dolinger, Ethan and Collin McNeal; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Edith Stewart of Greensboro, Robert and June Stewart of Elon, Cleve and Linda Gilmore of Ohio; special sister-in-law, Midge Barrett of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Ed Ruth Barrett of Semora and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a son, Hugh Martin Barrett, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Thursday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4 Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, NC 27401 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2211 W. Meadowview Rd., Suite 30, Greensboro, NC 27407. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Patricia's loving neighbors who helped look after her for several years.
