Parks Everette Kimbro

Parks Everette Kimbro, 66, of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 surrounded by his family.

A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late Brodie Everette Kimbro and Audrey Grey Kimbro who survives, and was married for 45 years to Donna Chandler Kimbro who survives.

Parks started his career in retail clothing in the Boys Department of Belk Beck in Downtown Burlington. He progressed through the ranks with Belk Beck, and a few years later joined S & K Menswear in Burlington. Parks found his niche at S & K, serving as an Assistant Manager, Store Manager, and eventually District Manager for North Carolina and Virginia...remaining with S & K until the company closed their retail locations. He then joined Brooks Brothers Menswear in Greensboro as a Store Manager and remained with them until his retirement in December 2020.

An aspect of his career with which he was most proud was delivering seminars on the ‘dress to impress’ concept to students at area universities, providing guidance on how to properly present themselves to prospective employers, customers, and the public.

Evidence of Parks’ faith and compassion was through his teaching children’s Sunday School classes, helping with Bible Schools, and mentoring young men and women as they made their way into adulthood. However, his accomplishments of which he was, and still is, most proud of are being a husband, a dad, and Paw Paw.

He is survived by his wife; Donna Chandler Kimbro, sons; Chandler Everette Kimbro and wife, Heather and Alex Christopher Kivett- Kimbro and husband, Jerry, grandchildren; Langston Everette Kimbro and Stratford “Ford” Chandler Kimbro, mother; Audrey Grey Kimbro, brother; Craig Allen Kimbro, Sr. and wife Deanna, brother-in-law; Delmas Chandler and wife, Donna, sisters-in-law; Mona Conklin and husband, Dale and Robin Pritts, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Parks life will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in the chapel at Lowe Funeral Home with the burial to follow in the Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
