BURLINGTON- Mrs. Pamela Evans Thornton, 47, of 523 Westhampton Ct., died on Friday, February 13, 2009 at her home after several months of failing health. Born in Ft. Jackson, SC, she was the daughter of Anthony Evans and Ann Cato Evans, who both survive, and was married for 17 years to David Gerald Thornton, who survives. She was a homemaker and an active sports mom. She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church in N. Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Thornton is survived by her husband of the home; parents of Burlington; her children, Kathryn Elizabeth Thornton and Benjamin David Thornton, both of the home; a sister, Kathryn Turner and her husband, Warren, of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Anthony Evans of Athens, GA.; nieces, Allison and Claire Turner and Bailey Thornton; nephews, Chris Felts and Grant Thornton; great nephews, Damon and Dustin Felts; in-laws, Bobby and Lorraine Thornton and Geraldine and David Gilliam; and sisters-in-law, Paulette Troup and Amy Staggs. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Monday, February 16, 2009 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mike Mitchener. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2-3:45 Monday at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the home.
