Otis Oliphant

Otis Edward Oliphant, 67, of 6046 Crosscreek Dr. passed away at his home Thursday May 14, 2009. He was the husband of Evelyn Ashe Oliphant for twenty years and was born December 13, 1941 in Cumberland County, NC to the late John Edward and Mattie Skipper Oliphant. Otis was an avid fisherman and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Survivors in clued his wife of the home, daughters; Marie James Brown of LA, Vanna Mark Cook of Burlington, Emily Oxendine of SC, step daughters; Cathy Tommy Oakley of Burlington, Donna Kenny Halas of SC, a step son Ricky Debbie Rudd of Graham, a sister Lola Belle Paul of Fayetteville, NC brothers; Stacey Shirley Oliphant of Rocky Mount and Fred Jeannie Oliphant of Melbourne, FL, six grandchildren, six step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers; Frank Oliphant and Lacy Oliphant. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Howard Thompson. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:30 1:45 PM Sunday prior to the funeral and at other times at the home.
