Otis Hopson

Otis Lee Hopson, 85, passed away on March 9, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born on January 26, 1936 in Durham County to the late William Otto Lawrence and Betty Harris Lawrence.

Otis retired from AMP Inc.  He attended Shamrock Evangelical Methodist Church. He enjoyed golf, landscaping, and spending time with his family.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Bell Hopson of the home; son, Gary Hopson and wife, Debbie of Greensboro; grandson, Darren Surratt and wife, Abby of Graham.

Along with his parents, Otis was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lane Hopson; and two sisters: Mary Farrel and Betty Pearl Howell.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Shamrock Evangelical Methodist Church with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park with Military Honors.  The service will also be live streamed on Shamrock’s face book page @shamrockemc.  Otis will be available for viewing from 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home.
