Gibsonville Oscar Frank Gasque, 80, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Ashton Place Health and Rehab surrounded by his family. Born in Horry County, SC on July 6, 1934, he was the son of Harry Gasque and Leona Ammons Gerringer and was the husband of 36 years to Jacqueline "Jackie" Gasque of the home. Frank was a veteran of the US Air Force serving in Germany and a member of Friedens Lutheran Church. He was employed with Life of Virginia for many years and later retired from UTZ. Frank also was a member of the VFW and enjoyed golf, gardening and mowing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" Gasque of the home; daughters, Cissy Newton and fianc, David Gusler of Roxboro, Candace Modlin and boyfriend Scott Tolley of Graham; sons, Scott Gasque and wife, Suzie of Burlington, Mike Gasque and wife, Kelly of Savannah, GA and Pastor Steve Gasque and wife, Gail of Wilmington; step daughter, Stephanie Foster of Raleigh; grandchildren, Travis Gasque, Spencer Gasque, Stephen Newton, Ashleigh Newton, Michael Gasque, Jordan Gasque, Brian Gasque, Alan Gasque, Sydney Gasque, Lauren Gasque and Joey Hogan; great grandchild, Brycen Cain; numerous nieces and nephews and his feline companion, "Bad Bad". He was preceded death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Jones; brother, Lenward Gasque and a step daughter, Kimberly Foster. The family would like to thank all of the special caregivers who helped with Frank during the course of his illness. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bill Zima and Pastor Steve Gasque. The US Air Force will provide military honors at the service. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
