Ollie Cook

Burlington Ollie Louise Tingen Cook, 88, of Burlington passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008. She was born in Alamance County to the late James Thomas and Tabbie Duncan Tingen, and was married to the late Garvis Allen Cook. Ollie retired from Towers Hosiery at the age of 80, after working there over 60 years. She was also a charter member at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Survivors include her brother, James Daniel Tingen and his wife Vidie of Burlington, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and four sisters. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tommy Privette. The family will receive friends from 10:45 until 12:45 prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and at other times at the home of James Tingen, 1884 NC 62 North in Burlington.
