Oliver Willard

Oliver Junior Willard, 89, of 2250 Phibbs Road, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Hospice Home. Mr. Willard was a native of Asheboro and the son of the late Nathaniel Oliver Willard and Caroline Towel Willard and the husband of the late Tula Elizabeth King Willard. He was a US Army veteran of WW II and a retired cabinet maker and carpenter. Mr. Willard is survived by one son, Bobby Ray Willard and one daughter, Kay Brooks, both of Elon; two grandchildren, Bobby Junior Willard and Sheena Parker; and two great grandchildren, Lillie Parker and Grace Parker. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Willard was preceded in death by his siblings, Ethel Hoover, Jesse Nance, Gladys Shook, Doris Turpin, Irene May, and Grady Willard. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Gibsonville City Cemetery with Tommy Scoggins officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Hopice of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to the donor's choice.
