THOMASVILLE - Norma Lee Farlow Todd, 85, of Burlington, went to be with our Lord on January 17, 2006 at Thomasville Medical Center after several weeks of failing health. She was the wife of the late Daniel E. Todd, Sr., who passed away in 1963, and was the daughter of the late Waldo Hal Farlow and Gertie Furr Farlow. A native of Chase City, Virginia, Norma Lee spent her adult life in Burlington, formerly at Brown Ave., before moving to Burlington Manor for over 2 years and then moving to LibertyWood Nursing Center for the past two years. Norma Lee was a godly woman whose kindness, compassion and warmth touched all who came in contact with her. She maintained her spirit, determination, and faith until the Lord called her home. She was a charter member of Burlingtons First Church of the Nazarene where she served faithfully for many years as a Sunday School teacher in the childrens department. She touched the lives of many children and their families. She retired from Burlington Industries, J. Spencer Love Center in 1981. Mrs. Todd is survived by her two children, Daniel E. Todd, Jr. and wife, Mourine, of Elon and Cheryl Todd Norris and husband, Bill, of Thomasville; five grandchildren, Daniel E. Todd, III and wife, Lisa, of Vero Beach, FL, Lane Norris and wife, Wendy, and Kelly Norris Church both of Thomasville, NC, David May and wife, Lysa, of Mebane, and Brandon Todd and wife, Traci, of Raleigh, NC; eight great-grandchildren, Allison and Austin Todd, Claire and Blake Norris, Tara and Colby May, and Logan and Cameron Todd; a sister, Wyma Cole of Burlington; a brother, Waldo Farlow and wife, Helen, of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Vinson officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Daniel Todd Jr., 202 Westgate Dr., Elon.
