Burlington- Nora Lee Cook Warner, 84, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 20, 2024. A native of Bethesda, Maryland she is the daughter of the late James Hayes and Mary Catherine Cook.
Before she retired, she was the branch manager for Bank of America in Virginia, where she was awarded the Million Dollar Honor Roll Membership in 1989. She was also an account executive for the Virginia Beach Retail Division for United Way Campaign in 1993. Nora was known for her feisty personality and amazingly green thumb. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and with her family.
Nora was survived by her children; Cheryl Warner Wilson and husband Ray, Brenda Lee Warner Seel and husband Greg, Frank Warner and wife, Stacy, grandchildren; Amber Imel, Kelly Ventra, Samantha Warner, Jonathan Wilson and Rachel Seel, eight great grandchildren as well a numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson; Brett Tyler Warner, parents; James Hayes and Mary Catherine Cook, six brothers and sisters; as well as her faithful fur baby Shorty.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Nora’s life at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Faith Christian Church by Pastor Reid Dickens. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nora’s honor may be made to Faith Christian Church; 1401 Bethel Methodist Church Rd. Burlington, NC 27217.
