Nora was a long-time resident of Burlington and well known for her religious, civic and charitable activities. Among her many accomplishments, she was particularly proud of being an organizer, charter member and financial secretary of Grace United Methodist Church; a Hospice Market team worker and leader for 15 years; and a volunteer worker with 30 years of service for Alamance County Hospital and its successor, Alamance Regional Medical Center. Family, friends and acquaintances invariably remember Nora for her generosity to those less fortunate, her strong, undauntable will, and an intense sense of what is right and wrong which manifested itself in all aspects of her life. Many more well deserved accolades could be cited and much more said about how Nora touched and influenced people's lives, but in accordance with her specific directives this obituary is being made brief and to the point. In lieu of flowers and for those who wish to honor Nora's life with a charitable donation of which she would greatly approve, please direct memorials to Hospice & Palliative Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 http://hospiceac.org/.
