Burlington-Nora Anderson Dixon, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. She was a longtime resident of the Pittsboro Christian Village and the wife of the late James Kirk Dixon.
Nora was a homemaker and attended Ireland Street Chapel. She served alongside her husband for many years at Ireland Street Chapel. Nora and her husband, Kirk were pioneers in the development of Mountain Top Youth Camp. Nora had a heart for young people and she operated a Daycare in her home many years. She was a loving and devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Joyce Dixon of Pittsboro; one foster son and nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Hurley Dixon and wife, Virginia of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Charles Lee and Bertie Mae Baker Anderson; sons, James K. Dixon, Jr. and Roy Gwyn Dixon.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm by Mr. Eddie Swartz at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 pm on Wednesday prior to the graveside at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
