Nona McGillivray

Nona Little McGillivray, 85, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Hospice Home. She was born September 6, 1929 in Gadsden, Alabama to the late James and Ellen Steward Little. She was married to the late Colin Dan McGillivray for thirty-two years. Nona had worked for an NBC radio affiliate in Washington, DC while her husband worked at the white house during the 1950's. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed bowling. Nona had a love for animals and volunteered with the Humane Society in past years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington and loved spending time with her family especially her grandson. Survivors include her daughter, Michele William McKnight of Burlington; a grandson, Colin McKnight of Burlington; a brother, John Little and his family of Gadsden, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Anita Gerra; brothers, David Little and James Little. There will be a memorial service held 1:00 PM Thursday at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by Dr. Terry Peele. The family will receive friends following the service.
