Nolan Moran

Burlington Nolan Kent Moran, 74, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his home. A native of Alamance County, he was born April 3, 1941 to the late William Tulis and Flora Ann Black Moran and was the husband of 55 years to Peggy Carroll Moran of the home. Nolan was a longtime member of Peoples Memorial Christian Church. He was a graduate of Williams High School, class of 1959 and later graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Nolan was employed in management with Sears Roebuck & Company for 20 years then with Western Southern Life Insurance Company before later retiring. He enjoyed traveling, genealogy and was an avid UNC Tarheel fan. He was a loving husband, father and Papa and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Peggy; daughters, Sherry Moran Caskey and husband Gregory of Indian Trail, NC, and Carroll Moran Gennings and husband John of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Gennings and Matthew Aaron Gennings; brothers, Prentice E. Moran and wife Betsy and William C. Moran; sister Eva Moran Neal and husband Jerry and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dr. Terry F. Prichard with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
