Nell Oakley

Burlington – Nell Presnell Oakley, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.  She was born in Moore County on November 23, 1924 to the late Larkin Jackson and Lemah Cox Presnell and was the wife of 67 years to the late Edmund Thomas Oakley, Sr.

Nell was a longtime member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church.  She enjoyed fitness, eating out and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Oakley and wife Cathy of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ricky Oakley of Greensboro; grandchildren, Stephen Oakley, Bryan Oakley, Nikki Oakley Raftery, Robbie Boone, Shawn Smith and husband Jamie, Michelle McNaught and husband Chris; nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Pamela Oakley; grandchildren, Keith Boone, Tammy Shepard; six sisters and three brothers.

Due to Covid-19 a private service will be held.
