Graham – Nancy Mae Ezzell Johnson, 88, went home to be with the Lord at her home on Saturday, April 24, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Tinsley Cheek and Eula Mae Mann Ezzell. She was the wife of the late William Alfred Johnson.
Nancy was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church. She retired from working in Textiles after many years. Nancy enjoyed traveling especially going to the mountains. She spent many happy hours with her grandchildren. She loved animals especially her dog “Jack” and her adopted family dog “Max”. She was a loving and devoted, wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters, Jo Ann King and husband, Steve of Burlington, Tammy Johnson of Burlington and Sandra Monroe and husband, Jim of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Jessica Eller, Brandi Monroe, Cody Monroe and Patricia Apken, Jonathan Johnson and wife, Brittanee and Kristen Friar and husband, Clint; great grandchildren, Maddie Apken, Ezra Ragan, Jesslyn Johnson, Jace Johnson, Brealyn Friar, Kaelyn Friar and Preslyn Friar; brother, Tommy Ezzell and wife, Jeanette of Mebane. She was preceded in death by her husband; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Joni Johnson, infant son, William Alfred “Billy” Johnson and infant daughter, Vicky Johnson; grandchild, Grayson Apken; parents and sister, Peggy Rogers and brothers, Johnny and Jerry Ezzell
A service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 2:00pm at Riverdale Baptist Church by Rev. Jonathan Graves and Rev. Larry Lamberth with the burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:15-1:45Pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
