Nancy Ross

Burlington, NC Mrs. Nancy Ruth Thornton Ross, 94, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Hospice Home after several years of failing health and a critical illness of 4 days. She was born in Harnett County to the late Mandy B. Thornton and the late Nancy Taylor Thornton and was married to the late Archie Christie Ross. Nancy retired from the textile industry and was a former employee with Biscuitville for 15 years. She was a founding member of God's House of Deliverance for 43 years. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Annie Fay Capes of Burlington; granddaughter, Zina Beth Capes of Burlington; grandson and spouse, Chris and Tracy Capes of Mebane; great granddaughter, Jessica Capes; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Richard Scott Capes, sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Thornton, Bertha and Elisha House, Delphia and Herbert Lee and Odell and Willie Faircloth; brothers and sister-in-law, Daniel Thornton, John and Christine Thornton. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Russ Faircloth, Rev. John Thornton, Jr. and Rev. Roby Turner. The burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
