Nancy Pentecost

Mrs. Nancy Jo Vogelgesang Pentecost, age 68, of 12 London Lane, passed away Friday December 5, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Howard Francis and Virginia Ann Brown Vogelgesang and wife of Stephen F. Pentecost, who survives. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, a judge at South Melville voting precinct, a member of N.C. Agricultural Extension Service, a winner of countless awards for her cross stitching, and a library volunteer at both Broadview Middle and Cummings High Schools. Survivors include her husband, Stephen F. Pentecost of the home; sons, Paul Everet Pentecost and wife Ermilina of St. Mary's, FL and Michael Allen Pentecost and wife Holly of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Ryan, Erin and Maura Pentecost; brothers, Charles Vogelgesang of Centerville, IN and David Vogelgesang of Acapulco, Mexico; and sister, Barbara V. Smith of Greeley, CO. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday December 8, 2008 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by The Very Rev. Robert Benko. OFM Conv., VF. Interment will follow in Hawfields Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Pentecost will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church for services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Sunday, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.
