Nancy Augusta Maas Herudek

Nancy Augusta Maas Herudek, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 1, 1952, in Morristown, NJ.

 A devoted mother, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Stacey Herudek and her son, Frank Herudek, who shares his life with his wife, Cara. She took immense joy from her role as a grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, Frank III “Trip” and Colin Herudek. Nancy's warmth and love will undoubtedly continue to resonate through them. 

 Nancy was part of a large and loving family. She leaves behind her sister, Mary Jinkins and husband Neil and her brothers, John Maas and Jeff Maas and his wife Ann. She also held dear her sister-in-law, Shirley Maas, as well as several nieces and nephews whose lives she touched in her own unique way. Nancy had a lot of friends and neighbors at Alamance Plaza who she considered family too.

 She enjoyed telling jokes, playing games and volunteering. Nancy proudly received the Governor’s Outstanding Volunteering Service Award in 2013. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, for her welcoming big smile, kindness, generosity and unwavering spirit. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, William Maas and Jane Honsberger Maas, her sister, Jane Maas and her brothers, Bill Maas and Jim Maas. Their memories live on, enriched by the legacy of love that Nancy left behind.

 Her family and friends mourn her passing and celebrate the memorable life she led. The essence of Nancy Augusta Maas Herudek will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.

 The funeral mass will be held 11:00am Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10:30am to 11:00am prior to the service at the church.
