Nancy Dawson

Mrs. Nancy Virginia Williams Dawson, 91, died peacefully on February 20, 2015, at Twin Lakes Coble Health Care in Burlington, NC. Nancy was born in Raleigh, NC, the fifth of six children born to the marriage of the late Joseph Eldridge Williams and Floniva "Flonnie" Eddins Williams. Her mother died when Nancy was two years old and her father died when she was three years old. Nancy and four of her five siblings were raised at the Junior Order Home in Tiffin, Ohio. Nancy was married to Frank Edmond Dawson in 1943. They were happily married for almost 59 years before Frank's death in 2002. Nancy and Frank Dawson resided in Greensboro, NC, for more than 54 years before moving to Twin Lakes Community in 2001. Nancy worked for many years in retail sales beginning at Meyer's department store in downtown Greensboro and then at Jordan Marsh and Ivey's before retiring from Dillard's at Four Seasons Town Centre. Nancy is survived by her two daughters Joan Dawson Lux and husband, Peter, and Judy Dawson Coleman and husband, Jim; her grandson James "Jay" Coleman and wife, Katie; and her two great-granddaughters, Molly and Mallory Coleman. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Christ Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 - 10:45 AM prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nancy W. Dawson may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 3600 Lawndale Drive, Greensboro, NC 27408, or to Twin Lakes Community, 3701 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington, NC 27215. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Twin Lakes Coble Health Care for their kind and loving care of Nancy for the past 12 years. The family also thanks Pastor Shellaway and the members of Christ Lutheran Church who faithfully supported her through their thoughts and prayers and visits with her while she was in Twin Lakes Coble Health Care Center in Burlington.
