Burlington, NC Nancy Baucom Barbour, age 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her many family and friends. She was a native of Richmond County and the wife of the late Jack Barbour. Nancy was an employee for over 15 years at Replacements, Ltd and a NC Real Estate Broker. She was a graduate of Kings College and of the Baptist faith. Nancy was an avid gardener and loved to cook. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved laughter and a good joke. A devoted, loving, caring, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Scott Barbour of Greenville, Bob Barbour and his wife, Lorie, Jamey Barbour of Burlington and John Taylor also of Burlington; grandchildren, Amber, Luke and Tanner Barbour; sisters, Alice Thomas and Anna Gordon both of Rockingham; brothers, Jerry Baucom of Rockingham, James Baucom of Monroe and Harry Baucom of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Herman W. and Buna Clem Baucom; infant sister, Barbara Kay Baucom; sister, Lydia Riggins and a three year old brother, Herman Baucom, Jr. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel located at 2205 S. Church Street in Burlington by Rev. Todd Martin and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. To celebrate her love for nurturing and cooking her family request memorials be made to be made to Alamance County Meals on Wheels, a food ministry to the homebound and the elderly at 508 W.
