Nadene Ford

Mrs. Nadene Barksdale Ford, age 79, of 311 Sunset Dr., died Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. Born in Halifax County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Richard Thomas Barksdale and the late Irene Tanksley Barksdale and was married to the late Arthur Raymond Ford, who died in 1989. She was retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Vernon Hill, VA. Mrs. Ford is survived by two daughters, Dale F. Mize and her husband, David, of Siler City and Deborah F. Sharpe and her husband, Jay, of Elon; a son, Thomas Ford and his wife, Lisa, of Burlington; four grandchildren, Dave Mize, Dan Mize, Dustin Ford and Brian Ford; four great grandchildren, Kaitlin Mize, Mackenzie Mize, Logan Mize and Regan Mize; and two sisters, Leila Weatherford of South Boston, VA and Annie Wallace of Halifax, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister and four brothers. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, May 10, 2010 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Howard Thompson and Rev. Larry Lamberth. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30-12:45 Monday prior to the service and other times at the homes of Deborah Sharpe, 311 Sunset Dr., Elon or Thomas Ford, 2812 Wagner Dr., Burlington. Mrs. Ford's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of ARMC and the Hospice Home for the attentive and loving care that was given to their mother.
