Myrtle Fowler

Mrs. Myrtle Willis Fowler, age 88, of 118 Alamance Rd., a former resident of Tabor City, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Hospice Home. A native of Morehead City, she was the wife of Ralph M Fowler and daughter of the late Alvin Swindell and Sabra Wallace Willis. She was a member of the Tabor City Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Ralph M Fowler of the home; sons, Dan M. Fowler and wife Deborah of Salisbury and Arnold G. Fowler and wife Brenda of Elon; daughter, Karen F. Murray and husband Mike of Bay City, TX; sisters, Elsie Diemer, Annie Mae Guthrie and Lena Gray Olszewski; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter and 7 siblings. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Terry Huffines. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 1:45, prior to the funeral service.
