Mozelle Stanford

Mrs. Mozelle Lynn Stanford, age 87, of Burlington passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Coble Health Care at Twin Lakes after several years of declining health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Lewis Lynn, Sr. and the late Lea Elizabeth Smith Lynn and was married to the late John Lecell Stanford, Sr., who passed in 1991. She was a career homemaker, but later in life served as a sitter and caregiver. Mozelle was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a longtime teacher of the Pastor's Fellowship Sunday School class.
Mrs. Stanford is survived by her three daughters, Connie S. Smith and her husband, Donald, Teresa S. Horner and her husband, John, and Jeanne S. Isley and her husband, Keith, all of Burlington; her son, John L. Stanford, Jr. and his wife, Betsy, of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, Christie Long, Julian Workman, Jr., Casey Clapp, Brandy Clapp, Jessica Stanford and Katie Stanford; three great grandchildren; two brothers, William Garland Lynn of Burlington and Charles Danny Lynn of Mebane; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Margie Thompson; and four brothers, Johnny B. Lynn, Donald Freeman Lynn, James Floyd Lynn and Lawrence Lewis Lynn, Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Don Pegg. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home and other times at her daughter, Connie Smith's residence.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Coble Health Care of Twin Lakes and also Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell for all their loving and compassionate care of Mrs. Stanford over the last several years.
