Mozelle Sumner Locke, 91, of 219 W. Harden Street went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2005 at her home. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Leroy and Mona Owens Sumner. Mozelle retired from Brown Williams Tobacco Company and was a member of the Salvation Army. She was also a member of the 39 & Holding Club. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dean Red and Ethel Sumner of Burlington; her daughter, Lucille Roach of Rutherfordton, NC ; grandchildren, Joyce Hayes of Graham, Robert Sumner of Graham, Glenda Robertson of Burlington, Sandy Bennett of Mebane, Blaine Roach and Marsha Nolen both of Rutherfordton; great grandchildren, Melanie Goldston, Melissa Flynt and Trudy Robertson; great great grandchildren, Blake, Selena, Diana, Alex, Hailey, Lora and Caidance; her dear friend, Sylvia Harrell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ishmal Harrison Locke. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2005 at 300 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel By Rev. Bennie Smith and Major Terry Edwards and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Dean Sumner, 333 W. Harden Street, Burlington, NC.
