Mildred Matkins Troxler Garrison, 89, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late John Matkins and Ora Gilliam Matkins and was married to Billy Burke Garrison who passed in 2018.
Mildred retired after 37 years as a lab technician at Carolina Biological Supply Company. She was a member of Shiloh Community Church formerly known as Shiloh United Methodist Church where she was a part of the Shiloh Women’s Mission Team. She loved her family, friends, church family and she loved working in her yard and her flowers.
Survivors include her children; Chelsea Troxler Wiles (Nathan), Robert Lee Troxler, Jr. (Cindy), Ronald Craig Troxler (Joan) and Hunter John Troxler (Tammy), step daughters; Judy Herring (Danny), Linda Bolick (Wayne) and Kathy Stowe (Frank), step son; Glenn Wayne (Lynn), 10 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 21 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband; Robert Lee Troxler, Sr., her parents and brothers, George Matkins, J.C. Matkins and Joe Matkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Shiloh Community Church by Rev. Scott Reavis with the graveside to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Garrison will be available for viewing from 12–5 PM on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
