Mildred Moon

"Mama" Moon, 88 of White Oak Manor, and formerly of 446 Elmira St., peacefully went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 18th. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Melvin Dellinger, Sr., killed in WW II and Paul "Tot" Moon, deceased. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth B. and Eugene C. Jordan. "Mama" Moon, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister is survived by her four sons, Mel Dellinger and wife Cheryl of Haw River, Roger "Rocky" Dellinger and wife Robin, David Paul Moon and William Allen Moon all of Burlington, and her two daughters Linda Jean Ezell of Coats, NC, Sandra Kay Duckworth and husband Robert of Burlington. She is also survived by her sister and caregiver, Helen "Jack" Jordan. "Mama" Moon's legacy is her six children, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and although she will be greatly missed, we rejoice at her home going. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 20th at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Loy and the Rev. Uston McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The visitation will be held 12:45- 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of her sister, Helen Jordan, 446 Elmira St., Burlington. A special "Thank You" to White Oak Manor for their care-giving over the last few years.
