Mildred Forrester

Mildred Gilmore Forrester, of 250-B Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Alamance Health Care. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Samuel and Minnie Lee Waddell Gilmore and wife of the late Clarence Dixon Forrester who passed away in 1992. She was retired from Tower Hosiery and a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Rogers and husband Tom of Concord; son, Tommy Forrester of the home; 3 grandchildren, Lindsay Forrester of Burlington, Kristen Rogers and Ashley Rogers both of Wilmington, NC; great grandchildren, Linden Jones, Sami Leigh Jones of Wilmington; brother, K. Aubrey Gilmore of Columbia, SC; sisters, Betty Rainey and Margaret Grant and husband Roy both of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Linda Lee Forrester; brothers, Gurney Robert Gilmore, James Cecil Gilmore, N.M. Gilmore and Ben. H. Gilmore; sister, Mary Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, December 22, 2011, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Forrester will remain at Lowe Funeral Home through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Wednesday and at the residence at other times.
