GRAHAM- Michael Todd "Mike" Workman II, 24, loving husband to Amanda Stafford Workman for 1 years, terrific son to Mike and Carol Workman, and wonderful brother to Jennifer Workman Strange and Abby Workman, passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Michael was born in Orange County on January 22, 1989. He was a 2007 graduate of Williams High School, where his class was the first graduating class of the Academy of Finance and he was on the wrestling team. Michael was also a member of the BAYSA. He attended Alamance Community College and was working towards a degree in finance through Liberty University. Mike enjoyed playing soccer, watching college football and basketball, was an avid Duke fan, and was a Fantasy Football enthusiast. He was a manager at Taco Bell in Graham and was a member of City Lake Baptist Church. For almost 25 years, the family enjoyed Mike and will miss him greatly. Michael is survived by his wife, Amanda, a dance teacher at Cummings High School; his mother, Carole, an Academic Coach at Williams High School; his father, Mike, Miscellaneous General Manager with Banker Steel Company; his sisters, Jennifer, Executive Assistant at Alamance Community College and Abby, a senior at NCSU; brother-in-law, Matthew Strange, with the City of Burlington Athletic Maintenance; grandparents, Grady Workman III of Burlington, Geri Stuffel of Graham, and Elmer and Rebecca Joyner of Graham; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, friends and his energetic Rhodesian ridgeback hound dog, "Jacks". A celebration of Michael's life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 27, 2013 at City Lake Baptist Church by Rev. Mike Workman, Rev. Elmer Joyner, Rev. Stephen Joyner and Rev. Canessa Stafford. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from 5-7pm Thursday afternoon and other times at his parent's home in Burlington. Michael battled chronic kidney disease his entire life. Those who knew him recognized he was a very special person.
