Michael Douglas Thompson, 60 years old, born on April 4th, 1956 completed his journey here on earth on Monday the 7th of November surrounded by his family.
He rode his bicycle into outer space to begin a new journey to join those loved ones and friends who have preceded him in passing. Mike never met a stranger and his ability to relate with all people was uncanny. Most would remember him calling us "Buddieee" or "Guber". He taught us all to appreciate the beauty of nature and a good bonfire. He was a MacGyver of all things mechanical, a master printer for over 30 years, a well prepared craftsman and one of the best story tellers anyone would ever have the pleasure of knowing.
Most importantly he was a loving, caring, devoted husband to Maria, an encouraging supportive father to Holly, John and Mark. He was a wonderful loving Pawpaw to Austin Mcgillon, Tyler and Madison Cagle, James Thompson and Bella Crissman. Mike was a great brother to Barry Thompson and an awesome brother-in law to Chamoi Thompson and Angie and Jack Baker and a really cool uncle and friend who always put others first!
Mike was a native of Alamance County and a graduate of Williams High School. Mike's family will celebrate his life at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 19th at Cane Creek Campground, 1256 Longest Acres Rd, Snow Camp, NC 27349. Pack your cooler and bring your favorite koozie and don't forget to leave with a "Hootie Hoot!"
