Michael Stevens

Gibsonville, NC Michael Mike Reynolds Stevens, age 47, of 111 Eagle Nest Court went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 26, 2007 after injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. He was a native of Wake County and the husband of Suzi Hill Stevens who survives. Mike was employed with Epes Transport as a fleet manager for over 14 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville where he served on the Outreach team and helped prepare meals for various occasions at the church. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving for sixteen years and 9 months of active duty and a life time member o the NRA. Mike was on the 1976-77 Cross Country and Track Teams at Cummings High School where he graduated in 1978. He was a life long motorcycle enthusiast and a beloved husband, father, son and brother. Survivors include his wife, Suzi Hill Stevens; daughters and son-in-law, Samantha Stevens Matthews and her husband, Jimmy of Asheboro, Abby Hill of the home; parents, Rudy and Judy Arnold Stevens of Burlington; brother and sister-in-law, Mark Stevens and his wife, Sue of Nevada; niece, Holly Whithner of Lenoir, NC and nephews, Cody Stevens of Elon, Jacob Stevens of Nevada and Brandon Stevens of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Lynn Stevens; paternal grandparents, Thurman L. and Flossie Mae Stevens; maternal grandparents, Eddie C. and Flossie Britt Arnold. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville by Rev. Brian Ayers. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. The US Air Force will provide full military honors for the service.
