Michael Dula

Michael Allen Dula, 63, of 104 Longbrook Drive passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 30, 2013. He was born in Rutherford County to the late Charles Allen Dula and Edith Jenkins Dula who survives. He was married for 42 years to Brenda Hollingsworth Dula, also surviving. Mike was the Manager of the Town of Elon for 23 years. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a Masters Degree in Geography and Planning and was very involved with the ASU Local Government Alumni Association. He was past president of the N.C. City/County Management Association and was a member of the International City Management Association. Mike loved music, camping and playing the bass. He is survived by his wife of the home, daughter, Adrienne Andrew Isenhower of Knoxville, TN and his mother of Forest City. The funeral will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Elon Community Church by Hospice Chaplain Susan Kane with interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:45 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the ARMC Cancer Center for their care, and the Elon Police Department, Fire Department, Public Works and Administrative staff for their love and support given to Mike during his illness.
