Michael Joseph Atkinson

     Mr. Michael Atkinson, age 71, of Burlington, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at his residence, while resting in his favorite chair.

     Born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Robert Paul Atkinson and the late Nancy Kay Steele Duich and was married to the late Tina Atkinson. Michael was a professional painter and was mostly self-employed but did work with some other painting companies over the course of his career. He was an avid fisherman, but mostly enjoyed be involved with family activities. He was a devoted brother and friend and could always bring out laughter in everyone.

     Mr. Atkinson is survived by his three sisters, Teresa Brand, Barbara Bodanyi and Thea Watson (Tony); two step-siblings, Swan Bender and Rich Adams; a step-son, Mark James; along with several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a step-daughter, Krystal Messer; his step-mother, Geraldine Atkinson; and three step-siblings, Mick, Jeff and Karen.

     The family will have a memorial service at later date.
